I hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday night! Who watched the Solar Eclipse?? Let me know! Me and my mom were grocery shopping at the time, so we didn’t get to watch it. However when my baby sister got home, she showed us the glasses they got and we went out and looked. There was still a bit.
Anyways, lately I’ve been seeing a lot of bloggers and YouTubers do this and I thought I would throw in mine to the mix! I love doing these types of posts! I included tips and tricks I not only use on myself, but my clients as well. Also, I will not be going into detail of the products I used, because this is not a makeup tutorial. (I did a more natural everyday look). If you want to find out my do’s and don’ts then keep on reading!
DISCLAIMER: These are all my opinions. If you do one of these and it works for you great! Everyones skin and face shape is different, and what works on me might not work on you.
»”Transition” shade in crease to help blend out the darker shadows
»Blended shadows (darker shades only on outer side and blended seamlessly)
»”pop of color” on the inner corner not to bright, and doesn’t come higher than the crease (not to bright for the look you’re doing)
»Thin liner/No liner for a more smokey effect
»Good Mascara (not old or clumpy)
»If you do apply lashes that they are seamless and you can’t tell the difference between your natural lashes and the falsies.
»Blended shadow on the lower lash line instead of liner
»”Natural” brows (not boxy light and just lightly filled in)
»Right match of foundation (not too light or too dark nor too yellow or too pink)
»Apply your foundation with a good brush or a beauty blender sponge (there is no right or wrong when it comes between brushes and sponges, just your preference)
»Perfect concealer shade (1-2 shades lighter than your foundation)
»Applied in three stripes (in a way forming a triangle without getting too much product where its not needed)
»Powder the whole face
»Bronzer (just enough, use a light hand)
»Nude/Pink blush (again, these are the colors I love best but if you can pull off orange or red or coral go for it!)
»”Natural” glow (too much highlighter on your face can make your pores look huge and your face too oily)
»Blend foundation/bronzer onto your neck for a seamless look
»Evened out lips (there’s a difference between overdrawn and evened out)
»Everything is smooth and blended (blending is key!!)
«No primer (girl. Are you crazy? This helps the appearance of your pores and helps your makeup stay on all day/night long)
«No eye primer (same thing here, it will help prevent creasing and your shadows will stay on a lot longer)
«Non blended shadows (not blending is probably the worst thing you could do. I don’t know one person that would tell you otherwise. So blend until you bleed! (Didn’t J. Hill say that??))
«Thick AF liner (this makes your eye appear smaller, and TBH doesn’t look the best. There’s only like two people I’ve ever seen pull this off)
«Spider Lashes (This just makes me cringe)
«Too long/not the right falsies (always trim your lashes to fit your eye shape, and make sure they look good with your eye shape)
«Tight lining (there are some people that can pull off liner in their waterline, but as for most it does not. This makes your eyes look so much smaller)
«Boxed and too dark brows (we’ve all seen the pictures, and we’ve all cringed)
«Too dark/too light foundation (you don’t want that line and you don’t want to look like a ghost, so just go get matched by a pro who works with the product everyday)
«Too dark/too light concealer (trust me it shows in real life and in pictures)
«Don’t apply in a check mark or dots (it only highlights your under eye circles, you want to go a bit further down to even out)
«Not applying powder (this will just make everything patchy you put on top)
«Too much bronzer
«Too much and too Pink blush (or as I like to call it “Clown Blush”)
«”Too” much highlighter (Gasp! Did I just say that?? Like I said above it can look bad if you over use it)
«That dreaded foundation line (just blend and have the right match)
«Over drawn lips and too light lipstick/gloss
«Foundation under the eye (putting concealer on top will only cause creasing)
I also decided to create this IRL so be sure to be following me on Instagram to see it!
